Republic Day Celebration at Auxilium Lonavla

Auxilium Lonavla celebrated the 73rd Republic Day with great fervor and patriotism in the early hours of the morning, commemorating the historic occasion when India’s Constitution came into effect. The event was a testament to the school’s commitment to instilling values of nationalism and unity among its students.

The highlight of the morning was the presence of esteemed chief guests, Mr. and Mrs. Shridar Pujari, who were escorted to the stage with full military honors by the guard of honor. The solemn moment of flag hoisting marked the pinnacle of the event, as everyone present patriotically honored the national flag with a salute, accompanied by the singing of the national anthem, recitation of the pledge, and the soul-stirring rendition of “Vande Mataram.”

Following the flag hoisting ceremony, a prayer moment was observed for the well-being of the nation and its leaders, invoking blessings for peace, prosperity, and progress.

Mr. and Mrs. Pujari, along with the ex LMC President Mrs. Surekha Jadhav, were warmly welcomed by the students and felicitated by Principal Sr. Shiny Alphonse, along with Tr. Jessy Mathew and Tr. Sangeeta Pawar, acknowledging their presence and contributions to the event.

The morning continued with the march past competition, showcasing the discipline and unity of the students. The judges, Mr. Garekar and Mr. Dharange, faced the challenging task of evaluating their performance, recognizing their efforts and dedication.

The school band mesmerized everyone with their melodious performance, while the choir added to the patriotic fervor with their stirring songs. The junior college students captivated the audience with a patriotic dance performance, instilling a sense of pride and admiration.

Various students came forward to portray famous personalities of India, highlighting the nation’s progress and achievements over the years. Additionally, students showcased their talent through a drill performance, further exemplifying their dedication and skill.

The chief guest addressed the students, sharing valuable insights and motivating them to contribute towards the growth and development of the nation. His words of encouragement resonated deeply with the audience, inspiring them to strive for excellence and service to the nation.

From January 17th to 25th, 2024, Auxilium Convent High School in Lonavla celebrated the Unity Octave, a special week highlighting different religions. Each day, one of the four school houses presented Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism, focusing on their teachings of peace, unity, and brotherhood.

Day 1 – Christianity: The first day showcased the values of Christianity, like love and forgiveness. Students shared prayers and hymns, creating a positive start to the week.

Day 2 – Islam: The second day explained the principles of Islam, emphasizing charity, equality, and submission to the divine. The event celebrated the diversity within the Islamic tradition.

Day 3 – Hinduism: On the third day, Hinduism took center stage, explaining concepts like dharma and karma. The presentation highlighted tolerance and respect in Hindu philosophy.

Day 4 – Buddhism and Jainism: The final day focused on Buddhism and Jainism, emphasizing non-violence, compassion, and mindfulness. Both religions shared a universal quest for peace and spiritual awakening.

Throughout the week, despite differences, a common theme emerged—the shared commitment to peace, unity, and brotherhood. Each presentation emphasized that these values are important for everyone, no matter their religion.

The event kicked off with a meaningful prayer service, setting a spiritual tone for the day’s festivities.

As the aroma of incense filled the air and gentle hymns echoed through the halls, the school community united in reflection and gratitude for the life of Blessed Laura Vicuna.
